Hello, I’m Jon, the photographer behind Prime Photos.

I’m an Exeter wedding photographer specialising in natural, relaxed documentary wedding photography across Devon, Dartmoor and Somerset.

I love photographing weddings because every one is different. The people, the atmosphere, the nerves beforehand, the laughter afterwards and all the little moments in between are what make the day yours.

My approach is simple, I want you to enjoy your wedding while I capture it.

I photograph most of the day as it naturally unfolds, rather than constantly stopping you or asking you to pose.

That doesn’t mean I disappear into the background completely. I’ll help when you need some direction, organise the group photographs you want and make sure you get some great photographs together as a couple, but I try to keep all of that relaxed and straightforward.

The result is a collection of photographs that actually feels like your wedding day, rather than a series of staged moments.

My style is documentary at heart, capturing genuine reactions, interactions and moments as they happen, while still making sure you come away with the beautiful portraits and important photographs you expect from a wedding photographer. Prime Photos offers wedding photography packages from £250, with options ranging from shorter coverage through to a full wedding day. There are no hidden extras, and I’m happy to tailor coverage if the standard packages don’t quite fit your plans.
